Just for reference I've got an on-screen back button and it works properly for me (LG Nexus 5 on android 6.0.1)
I am afraid I can not reproduce. Please make sure you click the button couple of times to confirm it is not working at all. I can only assume system lag.
Back button works well for me. Except in the chat screen, the back button does not close the chat screen.
The back button works fine on my Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920W8), Android 6.0.1. However, mine is a dedicated hardware back button that is independent of the screen. Can you confirm that your DL Tablet 3405 has a back button that is implemented in software? For example, the back button in part of the screen that can be used for other things like the hotbar in MCPE.
