Before 1.19.70 mobs could not spawn on string, but now they do. If you cover a dark surface fully with string, mobs will now spawn. I am assuming this is a bug since mobs wouldn't spawn in these circumstances in previous versions and there was no change to string mentioned in the recent changelog.

They used to never spawn on the top or on the sides of my snowman for a year or two until the latest update dropped. String covers every block on here so I don’t have to use light (since I like it looking dark at night) and string won’t appear on my map.
[media]It's not letting me upload the image on either my computer or phone. It's basically a massive snowman statue that no light reaches at night. My whole area is lit up in a 200 x 200 area (minus the statue) and I usually hang around the area with the statue, and there has never been any mobs up there until now.

I believe mobs have always spawned inside string. If you have a particular location where mobs are spawning and they did not before the update, please attach a screenshot.
