[MCPE-171389] Multiplayer not working

I am trying to connect to my brothers world and the game wont let us. This bug has been here for 5 updates now. Every time there is a bug update the game may work then it is broken again the next update and we cant play with each other. It is really ruining the game because the game is boring without playing with other people. Every time I submit a bug ticket it gets taken down because “its a duplicate” but they dont actually fix the problem. Please fix this issue ASAP.

Could you please mention how you are trying to connect? Via Xbox Live multplayer, or a Realm? Are you on the same network/wifi/lan? Or mobile data?

Which devices are you both using to play? Are you both signed into your Microsoft accounts, and do you have access to the Marketplace and servers?

We are both playing on iPad Air 2’s. We usually connect together via the same network/wifi/lan. We are also both signed into the our own Microsoft accounts. Yes we have access to the market place and servers. We can play with each other on servers but we cant join each others worlds. Another thing to note about this bug is that 2 years ago we were able to play together without Having to be signed into our account because we were on the same wifi. But then when the bug first appeared the only way way could play was by signing into our account and sending each other friend requests. Now neither way works. Sometimes after a bug update happens we can play when signed in but sometimes the next day after the bug update it no longer works again until the next update.

I also have the same problem. Does your gamer profile picture not appear in the pause menu in a single player world? Because mine is not there.

This Happend to me as well. It pops up a error code and say to restart my client. Idk what that means. I tried reinstalling the game, restarting my switch, restarting Minecraft and tried it on different worlds. Its making me not want to play Minecraft

This has been happening to me on my Xbox for the past month! My world loads and then kicks me and my boyfriend out mid playing. I love playing Minecraft and I really hope they fix it because it makes me just not want to play!

Turns out this isnt a glitch or bug. In order to play the game with another person you have to go to the settings (on ios not sure how android works) click on minecraft then turn on the setting labeled “local network”. This needs to be turned on both devices or else you will not be able to connect.
