XP orbs move toward the player much slower than in previous versions

I have noticed this too... the orbs take a lot longer to start moving towards the player and I have also noticed that I don't always get the XP added, mending fails also

Is this still an issue in the latest release? What kind of world were you playing on? Singleplayer, multiplayer, BDS, realm? Does it only occur in a specific world, or are multiple affected?
