Furnace refuses to cook my food.

Killed a few sheep for Raw Mutton, made a new furnace inside a villager's home, stuffed the Raw Mutton and coal into the furnace, nothing is happening. It should be cooking my Raw Mutton but it refuses to.

is this on multiplayer or single player?

This is on Single Player.

So does anyone have any advice? It's sort of limiting my beginnings of Survival and I temporarily stopped playing until it gets resolved.

Did you put in the coal first? That limits the time you have to cook the food, so maybe that could help. Always put the food first, than the coal because as soon as you put the coal in, it starts burning. Maybe you put the coal in, forgot about it, then put the food in, while the coal burned out, thus keeping your mutton raw.

No @unknown, furnaces with fuel are supposed to wait for ingredients being fed before they start burning. If you are really seeing the behavior you described, please file a ticket for it because it's clearly a bug.

I've done the above @AntonioSalinas but it still does not function properly with Raw Mutton. All other raw foods cook properly in the furnace other than the Raw Mutton.
