Minecraft for Chromebooks not available on certain devices

According https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/13803752803725 Chromebooks are now an officially supported platform. However attempts to install on the Pixelbook (i5, 8gb) fail as a plain search doesn't find minecraft. You can navigate to the install page by going via the Mojang company page on the Play Store however the game is listed as not compatibile.

I think ultimately this may be related to previous closed bugs which were collected under MCPE-32173 but as I can't re-open that so I'm raising this.Β

Same issue with a Samsung Chromebook Plus V2. This is a year-old Chromebook, and the article on Google's site https://blog.google/products/chromebooks/minecraft/ says that it is compatible with "all Chromebooks launched in the last three years." Mine is a 2023 year Chromebook, Samsung Chromebook Plus V2. The Minecraft Chromebook Support document says that the minimum requirement is a Celeron 3865U, I have a newer 3965Y, but the app is still showing and "not compatible" on the Play Store.

Is this still an issue in the latest version? If yes, could you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter)?

From the duplicate thread, my experience:

I recently purchased an ASUS CX1 in part to run Minecraft. I checked the system requirements here:

https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/13803752803725-Minecraft-for-Chromebook-System-RequirementsΒ

My system has these specs, according to ChromeOS:

  • ChromeOS 126 (check)

  • 64 bit (check)

  • Intel Pentium Silver N6000 (check I THINK but this is my concern)

  • 8GB memory (check)

  • 81GB available (check)

Here is what I see in the play store, launched from the Mojang website:

What has gone wrong?

I have also tried installing the Linux environment and using the debian version. That works, but there are some downsides, especially that it doesn't seem to save my login information and I'm setting this up for my son.

Thank you for your help.

Yes, this is still an issue.Β

On my phone, it says the version is 1.21 ... but then it is cut off. I took that screenshot from the Play Store on 24 July 2024 at 17:48 Madrid time.

Thanks
