q.is_in_ui returns 0.0 in NPC dialogue

The bug

The q.is_in_ui query returns 0 when rendering the preview of an NPC in the dialog

How to reproduce

1. Download and open the attached world. It sets NPC scale to q.is_in_ui ? 3 : 0.5, meaning they should be 3x bigger in the UI, and 0.5x smaller in the world.
2. Talk to the NPC

Expected result
The preview should be very large

Observed result
It's small

Notes
The main reason this is a problem is not for scaling, but for playing specific animations in that window.
