Windows 10: Click Lag/Freeze/Crash from Mouse Input

When playing Minecraft on Windows 10, I get an issue that makes it near unplayable. Both Left and Right clicking will cause the game to stop or freeze for a second before it returns to normal. Rarely, it will crash the game, closing immediately.

EDIT: It is not FPS Lag but actually it disables mouselook for a second with each click.

EDIT 2: The problem occurs with Mice input. Using a gaming mouse to bind keyboard keys to the extra buttons and using those will not cause lag or freezes and crashes.

Does clicking stop/freeze the game even when using an external mouse?

Also, if it ever crashes the game again, it might be useful to post the crash report. You can find the crash report by doing the following:

  • Press the Windows Key + R to open the run dialog

  • Type in eventvwr.msc to launch the Event Viewer

  • In Event Viewer, go to Windows Logs -> Application

  • Find the crash log relating to Minecraft.Win10.DX11.exe (there might be multiple)

  • Post the log here.

Here is an example screenshot of what a Minecraft crash log might look like in Event Viewer: http://i.imgur.com/4QyAvf0.png

Yes, I was actually using an external mouse at first. Happens on both external and touchpad.

Technically, it doesn't cause the game to freeze or drop in FPS. But it stops mouselook for that one second after a click.
Is this the log you were looking for? EDITED for most recent recent log report. EDIT 2: It wasn't a crash, I exited the game normally but I guess that log still happened.

From the crash log, it looks like the error was an UnhandledException that occurred somewhere in the OptionsItem::render function. The error happens at or before the call to destroy string. Not sure why it happens, but hopefully that info is useful to staff.

One last thing worth mentioning:

  • Go to the Windows 10 Settings app

  • Find Mouse & touchpad settings

  • Under Touchpad settings, make sure the "No Delay" option is selected like so: http://i.imgur.com/YbnRqdS.png

Yup, tried that. Still have the issue. Also tried disabling Windows 10 Game DVR. Neither worked.

Um, no this issue is NOT RESOLVED. Still happens in any update you all make. Has not been fixed so I do not know why it is marked as resolved. Also, this is not a duplicate of ANY other issue. I have not seen anyone else with my problem.

To be honest, I don't care though because I found a workaround by using the extra buttons on my mouse to act as the left and right mouse clicks. They are keyboard buttons on my mouse (X and Z) that I use. Clicking will cause the lag and crash, but using the extra mouse buttons won't because it's like using the keyboard.

I assume it's a compatibility issue with my laptop and Windows 10. It's technically not supported.

Thank you for your report!

Crashes such as these are logged automatically, and will be looked into further by the development team.

I have this problem on my pc with 1.14.onwards. I have uninstalled Java, Minecraft, and my video card drivers, using Revo uninstaller and reinstalled them all with the

latest drivers. I cannot move anything from or into a chest  or in fact use the left or right mouse buttons. I have tried using several different mice as well as uninstalling  and reinstalling their drivers. the game is sadly unplayable on my pc.
