I made a redstone elevator, but it caused the player to crouch. When I reached the bottom and started going up the player crouched and went through the bottom block.

Please note, that mechanics of the game may change between updates.
Things such as graphics, sounds, world creation, biomes, redstone, villagers, and animals may not work the same in current versions.
From the video it looks like your elevator has a 2-block gap for the player to stand in. In that kind of build, if the lower block moves up before the upper it will trigger crawling. You should be able to redesign the elevator to give more headroom (a 3-block gap) or move the ceiling before the floor.
