I just found out that other people with Realtek Audio Drivers also have this issue but crash instantly instead of having audio issues and crashing after a while, this could be because I'm using Windows Sonic for Headphones but I could be wrong

I'm having the same no sound at all and crashing issues. I can confirm this on a DELL laptop and DELL desktop both using Realtek Audio. DELL Command|Update is showing no updates for the sound drivers.

Lockup issues for me occur during Bedrock version loading. Stopping at 35% and 41%. If I make it past those, it seems the the game always comes up.

All sounds in Windows are not affected on either of these systems. I was watching the Microsoft event today 9/21/23 and playing Minecraft. 🙂

@Mridalmm I also have Realtek Audio Drivers

On 21 September (Wednesday) certain audio, like dog barks and water splashes, was playing distorted, but not consistently.  I have Realtek High Definition Audio drivers on a PowerSpec computer (built by Micro Center).

I noticed they changed the audio that plays when you fall into the water – it's now the same sound as when your boat goes over a bubble column.   Not a bug, but I don't care for it.  :\

@Jim for me and at least 3 other people that I know I can confirm that it either crashes the game before startup or after a couple of minutes which makes the game unplayable, this also happens constantly and is not random, also for me the audio issues are for every sound I have

Also all of us use Realtek Audio

I also have this problem, only after the 1.20.30 update! However, my game does not crash, but I have the audio issues which is basically sounding like a constant scratchy record/crackling in the background during the game menu and in any world or realm. I can get it to be quieter if I turn off music but it still is there and is very annoying. Cannot play with this constant sound. I tried opening other game that use microsoft/xbox apps and the sound does not occur with those games. Only with Minecraft bedrock 1.20.30. I also have realtek audio drivers, I checked and there is no update for that driver. I also am on a Dell windows 10 gaming laptop.

I have tried updating every sound setting within windows, xbox apps and minecraft to no avail, even replaced my earbuds thinking maybe that was the problem. Nope.

Please upgrade this issue to be looked at soon.

@TXLW I have the scratchy sound too, but after a couple minutes my game just crashes

@Enis  I'm sure it's still the same problem, like @TXLW reported.  Last night, right in the middle of playing, the game just stopped and restarted, as if I had minimized and restored the window.  I didn't appear to lose any data, though.

So is this a problem with only realtek audio, because thats what i have also

migrated

@alan hodge at least to my understanding yes, everyone that had the issue till now had Realtek Audio

@alan hodge  The problem seems to be WITH minecraft bedrock edition itself, seemingly affecting only people with realtek audio controller drivers. I spent about 8-9 hours troubleshooting every possible other area that may have been causing the issue before i checked the bug tracker for minecraft.

I tested my theory by opening 2 other xbox games purchased in the microsoft store (ARK and Sea of Thieves) and neither of those games have the crackly/scratchy sounds. ONLY minecraft bedorck edition after the 1.20.30 update is having the audio issues.

The only similar factor that the other commenters and myself seem to have in common is the realtek audio driver on a dell laptop.  It would appear to me that something in the latest update is causing only people using a PC to play bedrock edition (mostly dell laptops) and only those having realtek audio drivers.

@TXLW Yes this is only for people with Realtek Audio, this doesn't have to be on a dell laptop, I personally am on a lenovo desktop

I can also play Java with zero issues, just bedrock, and it’s really bad on realms.

1.20.31 seemed to fix this for me.  Anybody else?
