When creating a resource pack, I could not successfully retexture particles.png. All the folders were correct, and I could retexture other textures correctly in that same folder, (I tried shriek.png) but a custom texture for particles.png would not display in game. The file was named correctly, at least named so that my computer did the whole "there is already a file named particles.png in this location" when I put the particles.png file from the Bedrock sample resource pack, so either that one is named incorrectly or there is just something wrong with that file.

Steps to reproduce: Create a resource pack, and retexture particles.png. Apply this pack and observe some particles
Expected behavior: The new particle texture would be displayed in-game.
Observed behavior: Particles still had their default textures.
Notes: I am incredibly confident the format was correct, or at least the exact same as the official bedrock sample resource pack. I could retexture everything else with no problem, and could even change the .json files for particles to a new texture and that worked. All the .json files (in the bedrock sample resource pack anyway) were pointing to textures/particle/particles, and that was the exact name of the file in my resource pack; it just did not work. Also, I saw a bug report on here somewhere earlier that was something along the lines of "this resource pack i found with custom particle textures doesn't work!" but it had been closed due to the author not providing much description of anything and then not responding.

Oh! Just realized, MCPE-151773 looks like it might be the same thing I had. The world I was testing in did have Education features enabled, and I didn't think to test on another world.

I tested the pack on 1.20.13, the most recent version of Minecraft Education, (not just Bedrock Edition with the Education Edition world setting enabled) and all of the particles did actually appear as the unused angry villager face. This issue might just affect Bedrock Edition worlds with the Education Edition world setting on, not Education Edition itself.
I also just tested the pack on Minecraft Education Preview 1.20.60 and got the same results as in the full release of Minecraft Education.
Thank you for your report!

Is this still an issue in the latest version? If yes, could you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter)?
