Leaves never turn white if the weather cycle game rule is off

It appears that leaves no longer turn white during snowy weather, no matter how long you wait. This is not the same as my other, older bug report about switching dimensions, this is separate. I have Fancy Leaves on, aswell.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open a new world (existing ones probably work too)

  2. Locate a snowy biome

  3. Force it to, or wait until it snows

  4. The leaves will never transition to white.

The attached image was me waiting in-game waiting for them to turn white while I was writing this.

Could you attach the world you are using to reproduce this to this ticket?

I think I found the cause. Little did I know, the weather cycle gamerule also controls if leaves turn white. At least that's how it appears to function. A world that has it off seems to work normally, but turn weather cycle on and leaves will keep their current state.

This also means if weather cycle is off, and you use the command to turn rain or thunder on, the leaves will not change to white. This may function as intended, but I thought it worth mentioning.

It is not a bug that the weather cycle game rule needs to be enabled for leaves to turn white, see this comment.
