this would be a neat feature to give the apple some utility

This may be working as intended, but the side-effect of it may not be. It doesn't make sense to have a recipe book that doesn't allow you to auto-fill the dispenser recipe (the reason I came to see if there was a bug report). I doubt Mojang intentionally made it where you couldn't auto-complete the dispenser recipe.

Not allowing ingredients with NBT data is likely intentional, but breaking certain auto-complete recipes almost certainly is not.

I would start a separate issue about that, but all of them are resolved as duplicates of this, despite them being different.

Bug is still present in 1.20.40

This is still an issue in 1.20.32

This also means if weather cycle is off, and you use the command to turn rain or thunder on, the leaves will not change to white. This may function as intended, but I thought it worth mentioning.

I think I found the cause. Little did I know, the weather cycle gamerule also controls if leaves turn white. At least that's how it appears to function. A world that has it off seems to work normally, but turn weather cycle on and leaves will keep their current state.

Yes, I do. Is this a side-effect of having that enabled?

Confirmed it happens on Windows 10/11.

Confirmed to still be an issue in 1.19.81.

Can confirm it still is an issue in 1.19.51

That's strange. I'm using WIN10, and my friend on Nintendo Switch joins and plays on my world just fine, with no problem joining.

I am on the latest version of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and have had the same issue.

As soon as you place a tripwire hook, it invalidates your whole stack for some reason and attempting to place the tripwire hooks manually will result in the hover-over message stating,

'Trader does not want this'
