Lava disappears when placed or dispensed into a waterlogged block

When I place lava from a bucket in a place with a waterlogged block, the lava disappears from the bucket and the game makes the water bucket emptied sound.

I expected it to either place the place lava and make the right sound, or keep the lava in the bucket and not make a sound.
