In Minecraft Windows 10 Edition after clicking the search tab, the search field is never in focus. I first clicked the search tab, then began to type out the name of the item. I noticed that nothing was being typed out. So I had to then click the search field and started typing out the name of the item again. This happens every time!
Steps to reproduce
Open Creative Inventory.
Click search tab.
Begin typing out the name of item in which you want to find.
The text you're typing out isn't being inputting because the search field is not in focus.
What was changed in MCPE-24609 re-created this problem. See my comment on that bug report.

It could be argued that this is WAI:
When using the recipe book in Java 1.12 (survival), you have to either press T or click the magnifying glass icon to gain focus on the text input box to search.
This behaviour is currently the way the new inventory works in Bedrock 1.2.0.11, in both creative and survival modes. This could be intentional, so that the inventory can easily be closed by pressing E - (See ticket MCPE-24609 for reference)
However, when using the creative inventory in Java, pressing T or clicking the compass icon, the text input field is immediately focused.

However, this issue has been closed as Working as Intended.
The development team have designed it so that on Windows 10, E can always be used to open and close the inventory - this can't happen if the text field is auto-focused each time the inventory is opened (see ticket MCPE-24609)
To focus the text field, you need to open the inventory and either click the text field, or press T or Return.
