Hey
When you aim the camera from the side towards the sun, you can see how the colors change abruptly. It also looks like a cut, after the sun suddenly gets brighter. I have attached a second video where hopefully everyone can see what is meant.
No, the bug report MCPE-180015 does not describe the same issue.
Steps to Reproduce:
Look directly at the sun with the camera. Then, pan the camera to the left or right until the sun reaches its "standard size." Then slowly look back towards the sun. Like in the Video 0324(1).mp4
Observed Results:
The sun suddenly becomes significantly brighter, without a smooth transition, as if a second sun texture has been overlaid on the old one, causing the light rays to abruptly appear brighter without a transition, as the two textures overlap.
Expected Results:
The sun should have a smooth transition without sudden changes in color/brightness.

Could you elaborate on how the animation isn't smooth? What exactly is the expected behavior here? According to MCPE-157917 the change in saturation is expected.
I fail to see how the transition is not smooth in-game.

Yeah, allegedly this is intentional behavior but it just seems like a janky feature that should be removed to have parity with Java. It looks broken
PS: If I had the choice, I would completely remove this feature (the sun enlarging) from the game. Because:
It doesn't looks right
It leads to bugs like this
Vibrant Visuals doesn’t include those features — and the Sun already looks so much better because of that reason alone
One of the main reasons I’ll use Vibrant Visuals is because it doesn’t have that weird, glitched sun animation.
Like, can’t you at least add a toggle or something? It’s actually a good feature—I’ve been thinking about it recently. But this bug makes it look really ugly and totally ruins the atmosphere.
For those looking for a fix:
Use this Sun texture as your new Sun. You can follow any basic YouTube tutorial to learn how to add textures to a texture pack. This new texture removes the shiny Part —while it might not look perfect, it's still better than dealing with the current bug.
