When playing Minecraft (v1.20.71) on Nintendo Switch, when I open the inventory, the cursor moves left and right in the opposite direction and I can't close the inventory. And I can't do anything other than move the cursor.This can be fixed by closing the game, but any progress you made before saving will be lost.This issue seems to be occurring in v1.20.72 as well.
postscript:I just encountered this issue, so I tested whether I could close the inventory by tapping the screen, and I was able to close the inventory. There were no particular problems with the operation after that, but I think this bug should be fixed as soon as possible.

My kids are also experiencing this, also on the Nintendo Switch.
I've only seen it happen in the inventory, and the left/right direction on the stick is reversed. Cannot back out of the inventory, select anything and so on. Items still get highlighted as though we can select them, but no buttons work.
From memory, the "change perspective" button or the "drop item" button still works (not sure which, I'll confirm next time it happens & try to remember to update this ticket).
Only option has been to press the home button to go to the Switch home screen then close the game (losing progress) and open it again.
Seems to happen randomly when in the inventory. Could be 10 minutes into the game, or an hour later.

Using touch controls in the UI does not work. Game must be closed and restarted.

1.20.72 OLED and Lite Switches both having the issue at least once every time they play. My kids think it has only happened in inventory, but at least once they were able to get out of inventory and get to reset controls to default. When they’ve come to me it’s been because they are stuck in inventory. Today was able to close out on the touch screen (which they can’t do independently because they don’t have physical access to the console, only the controllers).
