I have rabbits spawning in an abandoned mineshaft, ~30 blocks under the surface, in ice plains/cold taiga biome. As I understand, rabbits should only be able to spawn on grass, snow or sand. The floors is mostly stone, but there are some dirt patches (no grass though). The fences ,rails & cobwebs have been harvested, so (explored part of) the mineshaft is currently just a set of well lit 3x3 corridors.

I want to make sure the issue is understood correctly. I did a search, did see that bug, and that bug description does not reflect the issue captured in this one.
The other bug is about the rate of the rabbit spawns, as in they spawn more frequently than they should, regardless of the location.
This one is about the location of rabbit spawns, as in that the rabbits spawn in places they shouldn't, regardless of the frequency.
If this is because of the same internal cause, that is fine, please close this issue. However, The bug itself is not a duplicate, as it is an independent and irrelevant symptom.
I closed it as a duplicate as I think it is probably the same root issue, but I'll reopen and link it, the devs can decide 🙂
