Whenever I used a certain resource pack, I see the pink and black texture at the top screen
Example: Legacy console edition UI, Legacy battle mini games map download
This happened with me and my friends on PS4 Version and, IOS, I'm assuming it's every platform it happens on

It is because a texture pack u are using is outdated
I have a texture pack that works perfectly on 1.20.73 but after the 1.20.80 update, it also has the error square
I have another one that doesn't change textures. it only shows health of mobs and doesn't have this glitch

I had this issue and managed to solve it in my own texture pack by updating the hud_screen.json file entirely.

The report you have submitted is working as intended: the issue lies with the texture pack itself rather than the HUD system.
Please note, that mechanics of the game may change between updates.
Things such as graphics, sounds, world creation, biomes, redstone, villagers, and animals may not work the same in current versions.
