It works in other things (World Select, World Settings), but currently the way Mojang has set it up makes it so you have to remember/guess the color code. It may be intentional, but i believe that people would like to see the colored text within World Creation.

This problem has been occurring for quite a while now. Way before I reported it, but I thought someone might have reported it, but it doesn't seem like anyone has.
