Blocks can't be broken using a controller

While playing Minecraft, I quickly realized that I could not fully break blocks using my controller. Holding down the right trigger would at first break it only 10%, then the second attempt around 50%, and then it would usually break on the third attempt, but it would repeat for any future attempts. Sometimes the input was not registered at all

I verified that the controller worked, and tested it using a bluetooth and USB connection.

If I used touch controls to move the camera and used the right trigger, blocks would break as normal.

I experienced the bug on both a public server and local world, using a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, and played the game on a Samsung S24.
