Sea Turtles stop moving underwater when pregnant

Hi! Been working on “turtle island” on a friend’s realm on survival, and this issue has come up where after I breed turtles  one will go look for its beach to lay eggs, I come back and it’s stuck underwater under the spot it wants to go to on the beach sand and it doesn’t swim or move anymore unless I push it but all it does is move in a straight line and moves its fins a little as you push it.

In an attempt to clear out a couple I hit one and it sprung back to life and went back to swimming as normal. I am unsure if they still go lay eggs after or not I was just excited to have them back. This isn’t sustainable tho cus well hitting them feels bad and it’s worse when they die. I have to guide them to the top before they get like this or just hope they don’t get stuck but it’s happening quite a bit and I don’t want to be a turtle killer.

I’ve recreated this w turtles I’ve bred and naturally found turtles and I’ve tried putting an extra layer or 2 of sandstone between to help but it all seems pointless. I can’t find anything about this issue for anyone else so I hope this is new and interesting and I’m really excited if this is fixable! I really appreciate your time and effort! Thank you!!!

P.s. I hope there’s no issues with this formatting, I had to copy paste the text because I figured I would lose my progress on this (I did) while taking the pictures. I did 2 so you can see that everything else moves that’s supposed to except the turtle🙂
