Spiders should only spawn in a free 3x1x3 space with a solid block in the middle
but as you can see from this picture they are spawning even though there are buttons which should obstruct them

The screenshot shows an outdated spider-blocking design that is not expected to work after the fix to MCPE-99315. Spiders spawn at the center of blocks now, and they are not large enough to collide with buttons on neighboring blocks. You can prevent them from spawning by placing slabs, trapdoors, or solid blocks in those positions. Resolving as Invalid since this is not a bug.
