When rain starts, the Creaking Heart activates and spawns a Creaking as if in night time. However, when attacked, the Creaking despawns from the world as if it had turned to day.

can confirm that they spawn during thunderstorms, even if its day time. I couldn't get any to spawn during rain, or despawn when hit though.
