Problems with villagers

Hello, I would like to build an iron farm/trading post with villagers. Some villagers accept jobs even though I don't have a job. They do not lose this job and if I change this villager with a new one, this happens again. the whole thing is on the XBox and on Windows

Hi,

we are playing on the same realm.

i‘ll try to give a somewhat better explenation:

  1. spawn/get villager

  2. place workstation

  3. don‘t trade with villager

  4. switch out workstation /break and place same workstation

  5. expected result: villager takes on new occupation according to the new workstation/resets trades if it‘s the same workstation.

  6. result on our realm: villager doesn‘t change occupation/trades even though it wasn‘t traded with.

i can‘t reproduce this in a local world but it happend on our realm many times in a row, even if you breed a new villager.

i honestly don‘t get why this problem should be an issue for technical support and not for the bug-tracker? feel free to correct me if i‘m wrong here.

kind regards

The original report appeared to be asking about how to build an iron farm, and provided little detail about the actual problem, which is why it was resolved as Invalid. Also, you do need to make sure that the villager you are working with is actually linking to the workstation being placed/broken, as indicated by the green particles. If you already know this, then I apologize, but unless you tell us what specifically happens, we have no way to know what you are seeing.

It is likely that some of the other existing reports about Villagers already describe your issue. You might want to review those to check.

If you don't find an existing report, you can create a one. Please use this format:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. (list every step completely, so someone else can reproduce the issue)
2.
3.
Observed Results:
(briefly describe what you see happen, including any message(s) shown)
Expected Results:
(briefly describe what should happen)

Try following your steps to make sure you include everything and can still reproduce the issue yourself.

Screenshots and videos are also helpful, however, they are not a replacement for the above information
