When switching items using hotkeys, it switches back to the previous item

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Place a block in a hotbar slot

2. Select the hotbar slot

3. Place the block and quickly switch to another hotbar slot using the number keys

Observed Results:

The game switches to the other hotbar slot and then switches back to the previous slot.

Expected Results:

The game should not switch back to the previous slot.
