Logging in/ out treats inventory for players differently

For two years id you decide you want to log back in and play with a bad connection, you will log out and play on your world and make your inventory dissapear, is there any way that this can be fixed? Why not just keep inventory seperate to the world and player slot isntead of by account and deleting all items from my inventory? This is infuriating please help!
