Unable to authenticate my Microsoft Account when trying to join friends Minecraft Realm

I keep receiving “You need to authenticate to Microsoft services.” error message when trying to join my friends Minecraft Realm. I tried syncing my time, but it fails. I tried using VPN and my phone’s hotspot to try and sync my computers time to see if that may fix the issue, but it fails under all internet avenues that I try to take. I wish there was a way that I can just use my Microsoft Authenticator app to allow me to join my friend's server. How can I get past this issue?
