Game freezes during auto-save

I don’t know how this is invalid. Here is what happens to the game (even if offline and single player). It is not a connectivity issue, as I turn the internet off completely on the system. About every minute or so I am able to move but nothing else does. Opening chest, talking to villagers, or opening menus does not work. Mobs do not move, blocks do not break. After about 30 seconds they all work again. Usually after this pause in the game the saving chest appears for a few seconds then disappears. It only began to happen after the last drop. I can attach a video if that might help.
