Planting kelp sometimes produces air block.

Sync issue. Try changing the settings from friends/invite join to single player in the world settings and see if this still happens.

Thanks for the suggestion. I turned multiplayer off for the world and went back in and planted 5 kelps. Three spawned air blocks. 🤦 If anything it may have gotten worse.
