I lost some inventory when my computer lagged

First off, my computer lagged and made it so I could not select anything except interact with the Minecraft environment. I picked up my shulker before restarting my computer (I could not do anything) and when I logged back on, the shulker was gone, making me have to go into creative and regenerate everyting in it.
