When trying to join a friend’s world in Minecraft (Bedrock Edition for Xbox), the game starts downloading the required texture pack automatically. However, once the download finishes, the game crashes immediately without any error message.
I’ve tested this with different worlds and friends using various texture packs, and the result is always the same: the download completes, and the game closes on its own. This issue prevents players on Xbox from joining any worlds that use custom textures.
Other players on Xbox are reporting the exact same issue, while users on platforms like PlayStation are able to join those worlds without any problems. This seems to be a platform-specific bug affecting only Xbox systems.
I’ve already tried the following troubleshooting steps without success:
Reinstalling Minecraft
Clearing the console’s cache
Freeing up storage space
Enabling settings to allow user-generated content
Using a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi
A fix would be greatly appreciated, as this significantly affects the cross-platform multiplayer experience.
Platform: Xbox Series X/S (also occurs on Xbox One)
Frequency: Always – every time texture pack downloads from a friend’s world

I experience the same issue when trying to join a world that was being hosted on android, trying to join from a ps5. I already had all the packs for that world downloaded as I had played on it previously, however everytime the game attempts to join the multiplayer world the game crashes.
