Blocks which can be broken instantly are not broken instantly. Instead, they appear to be mined at a fast speed. This means that if you left click and let go fast enough, the block will not break. Increasing Haste levels does not fix this.
This bug has affected the game for years and results in instant mining being frustratingly slow and sluggish. Large projects, such as digging massive holes with Haste II and Efficiency V is nowhere near as enjoyable and satisfying as it is in Java Edition due to this bug, and are more time consuming.
Steps to reproduce the issue:
In Bedrock and Java, create a large cube made out of stone blocks:
/fill ~10 ~ ~10 ~-10 ~ ~-10 stone
Obtain the Haste II effect and Efficiency V Netherite Pickaxe:
/effect @s haste infinite 1
/give @s netherite_pickaxe
/enchant @s efficiency 5
Change the game mode to Survival mode.
Mine the stone cube.
Compare the speed at which the blocks are broken and how many blocks are broken. Using the method shown in the video showcases the issue very well.
Expected result:
Instant mining is instant in both Bedrock and Java. There should be no delay, and no blocks should be missed.
Actual result:
Instant mining is not instant in Bedrock. If you used the suggested method, you will notice that in Java all blocks within the player’s reach were broken. Meanwhile, in Bedrock, many blocks within the player’s reach were not broken, resulting in having to go back and re-mine the same row. This wastes time. Increasing the Haste effect levels does not change anything.
