My skin won’t change when I log onto Minecraft as it just stays as Steve skin and only classic skins work

When I try to change something like pants or a top it does not show on Steve.Emotes I can’t change but anything else like capes don’t work and I have tried everything like restarting my iPad and updating the game. It is really annoying because I have 5 legendary cape but they don’t work anymore.
