the possibility that the Founder's Cape would not return to its original owners in December 8, 2020 version 1.16.200

Remembering that on October 22, 2020, the cape called "Founder's Cape" was removed from all players' inventories after it was mistakenly given to all players. In update 1.16.200, it returned to its original owners, supposedly. But would there be a possibility that the cape would not return to an original owner after that and would be left without its cape? Because I really remember having that cape in my account when I played on my Xbox and I kept using it because I liked it a lot, but simply one day it disappeared but I did not give it importance until today when the cape was integrated into Java. I remembered that happened and I wanted to share it here to get rid of doubts.
