In previous versions (since 1.15 RTX Betas), the semicolon (;) key toggled between advanced graphics modes (Ray Tracing, and more recently Vibrant Visuals) and Fancy graphics. This allowed quick switching depending on the last selected mode:
If Ray Tracing was enabled, the toggle switched between Ray Tracing and Fancy.
If Vibrant Visuals was enabled, it toggled between Vibrant and Fancy.
In the latest preview builds, this functionality is no longer present. The semicolon key no longer toggles graphics modes.
Steps to Reproduce:
Enable Ray Tracing or Vibrant Visuals.
Press the semicolon (;) key.
Observe that nothing happens.
Expected Behavior:
The semicolon key should toggle between the currently enabled advanced graphics mode (Ray Tracing or Vibrant Visuals) and Fancy graphics mode.
If this change is intentional: It means removing a very useful option for players who frequently switch between graphics modes. Ray Tracing and Vibrant Visuals with their more complex lighting can be visually obstructive in some gameplay scenarios, and many players—including myself—prefer to quickly revert to simpler modes like Fancy for better visibility, even if just briefly!
This is intentional per the 1.21.90.25 changelog:
