Issue with Minecart hoppers picking up blocks

Hi, while playing yesterday on newest Minecraft update, I found out my new supersmelter doesn’t work properly because of the weird thing with hopper minecarts, the lower one picks up the items from the higher one which is a one block higher AND one block to the side. Sorry for repporting that if that’s a new feature or smth.
