When playing Minecraft Bedrock Edition on Windows 11, I experience a consistent 1–2 second delay in keyboard input (WASD, Space, etc.) after closing the Pause menu (Esc) or Inventory (E).
This issue occurs every time and only right after closing those UI screens. The character does not move or jump for a moment, even though inputs are pressed. After 1–2 seconds, movement works normally again.
Steps to Reproduce:
Launch Minecraft Bedrock (latest version)
Enter any world (new or old)
Press Esc to open the Pause Menu
Press Esc again to return to the game
Immediately try to move with keyboard (WASD) → delayed response
OR
Press E to open Inventory
Press E again to close it
Try moving → input delay for 1–2 seconds
Expected Behavior:
Keyboard input should respond immediately after closing the menus.
Observed Behavior:
There is a delay before inputs register, even though the menus have been closed.
System Information:
Minecraft Bedrock Version: [ 1.20.82]
Edition: Windows Bedrock (Microsoft Store version)
OS: Windows 11
Input: Laptop keyboard and external mouse only (no controller connected)
Touchscreen: [yes my laptop has]
GPU: [Intel Iris(R) Xe graphics]
RAM: [16GB RAM]
Additional Notes:
No controller or touchscreen is in use
Game Mode and Xbox Game Bar are disabled
Happens in both fullscreen and windowed modes
Reinstalling Minecraft did not help
Delay is only after Esc or E, not during normal gameplay
