Minecraft’s latest update changed how RTX is enabled, requiring players to activate it from the main menu. However, the option doesn’t work properly, preventing users from turning on ray tracing in their worlds at all.

Minecraft's latest update has completely broken RTX activation. Players can no longer enable ray tracing in the main menu or within their worlds, effectively preventing its use altogether.

You need to enable the "Allow In-game Graphics Mode Switching" option while in the main menu to enable ray tracing while in a world. The inability to enable ray tracing while in the main menu is being tracked at MCPE-191513.
