Starting with the Clear Skies patch update, when a “player 2” joins via a separate account, it logs them in as a guest of the “player 1” account.
For example if the username of player 1 (host of the world/owner) is Bob0012 and that player starts a world they own locally on an Xbox, and then has another controller connect to the xbox, login as their own username (say it’s Monkey234 for this example) via the xbox menus, and press the menu button to “Join as player 2”, select their user (Monkey234) from the pop-up menu, it signs them into the world as Bob0012 (2) instead. A Guest account of the owner of the world, instead of their own account.
Obviously anyone that plays local co-op with friends/family from the same console, will be heavily impacted by this Bug/problem. Please let me know if I can provide any further details about this to help with
Troubleshooting steps that have been attempted: resetting the Xbox, clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling Minecraft, removing the second players' accounts from the Xbox and then re-adding them.
Thank you,

I'm having the same issue. I play on Xbox with my daughter and my son will play on PC and join. He can still join my daughters world but when I try to do it in the same console, split screen it won't load my account. It will load the main account of the world twice for the split screen. I've tried all the obvious things, uninstalling minecraft, signing out accounts, assigning controllers to accounts, making a news Microsoft account. Nothing has worked. Frustrated.
We're having this same issue and I've seen comments from a lot of people also struggling with it. Please bring attention to this issue as soon as possible so that the problem can be resolved and my family can play minecraft together again.
Thank you!
