Mojang Bug Report (English)
Title
Charged creepers spawning naturally in multiple worlds without lightning – Bedrock PS4 1.21.90
Category
Bug – Mobs – Bedrock Edition (PS4)
Description
In Minecraft Bedrock Edition on PS4, version 1.21.90, regular singleplayer worlds are spawning creepers that look like charged creepers despite no lightning occurring.
Key observations:
No lightning struck—new worlds created and played for less than a minute.
No mods, no resource packs, no behavior packs are used.
The appearance is a blue glowing aura, but behavior confirms they are regular creepers:
Explosion radius is normal.
They do not instantly kill nearby mobs.
The blue glow is static, not animated like real charged creepers.
This strongly suggests a visual rendering bug introduced in 1.21.90, causing regular creepers to appear as charged variants.
Steps to Reproduce
Launch Minecraft Bedrock Edition on PS4 (v1.21.90).
Create a brand new singleplayer world (no packs or cheats).
Wait for night or go underground.
Observe creepers—some appear with a static blue aura, yet behave normally.
Expected Result
Only true charged creepers (those struck by lightning) should display glowing blue aura and have significantly larger explosions.
Actual Result
Regular creepers are visually misrendered as charged, without changing their behavior.
