This bug has been present in the PS4 version of the game for a very long time and still exists today, making the game unplayable for many people. With the 1.21.92 update, the bug has now been introduced to the native PS5 edition as well, threatening to make Minecraft unplayable on PS5 too.
By "unplayable," I mean that the game freezes—sometimes for 1 second, sometimes for 5, 6, 7 seconds—while it continues running in the background. During this time, other players can kill you, creepers can explode, and you can miss jumps during parkour sections.
There is a bug report for this issue occurring in the PS4 edition of the game:
However, this bug report here focuses on the PS5 edition.
Reproduction:
There is no way to force this bug to occur—it happens randomly from time to time. Please do not close this bug report just because it cannot be reliably reproduced. The issue described here tends to happen more and more frequently over time, with longer and longer periods where the game stops rendering, until it eventually becomes unplayable, as it did for me in the PS4 edition of the game.
Observed Behavior:
The game stops rendering during completely random situations, with no visible cause.
Expected Behavior:
The game should continue to render without any issues.
I’m posting one videos here to show what this bug currently looks like. I also suggest checking the videos in the bug report at MCPE-179572 to see how severe this issue can and will become.
So, I’ve now switched to the PC (Windows) version — and what do I see? The same bug.
I can’t play on any platform anymore. It worked just fine yesterday, but today I’ve already experienced this issue three times. What am I supposed to do?
Why is this bug being ignored? I mean, the first report has at least an ADO number — whatever that’s supposed to mean.
The only information I can provide:
I play with a DualSense controller on the Windows edition.
I’m using Windows 11.
This bug affects PS4 players, PS5 players, and Windows players.
