I am unable to “paste” text into any of Minecraft’s menu text input fields when the iOS keyboard is up (new world name, world seeds, marketplace search box, etc.). The game and/or iOS keyboard never show a paste button above the standard keyboard letters (but shows empty/blank completion suggestions?). Double tapping or long pressing on existing text in the text field does not give any standard popup “cut/copy/paste” options. I also cannot select words or move the cursor around like a typical iOS text field. I’m seeing this behavior on my iPhone 14 Pro Max on iOS 18.5 with Minecraft version 1.21.90.
Also note, when copying an existing world’s seed with the “Copy Seed” button, I do see the “Copy to Clipboard” toast message and can paste it into other apps outside of minecraft. But I cannot paste it into Minecraft itself even if I do not exit the game. Seems like Minecraft can only write to iOS’s clipboard but not read. I checked iOS Settings for any clipboard permission switch to turn on but did not see anything for Minecraft. The only text fields that allow moving the cursor (but not paste) are in the Marketplace, there it seems to be a different implementation which has a green “broken bar” cursor. I have removed all custom keyboards. I found a workaround by using a 3rd party app called “Paste Keyboard”. However, I don’t really want to use it because it requires “full access” permissions to be enabled which lets the app track and save all my keyboard input.

Oh wow, I just found out you can connect a Bluetooth keyboard to iPhone and while it was connected, I was able to “Command + V” paste the clipboard content into the fields! Seems like the clipboard content is visible to the app, but there is no default paste mechanism/button to apply it to the text input fields.
