Can't see friend's skin even though I've disabled the trusted skins feature.

My friend and I use custom skins. When I join the server, I can't see my friend's skin, even though I've disabled the trusted skins feature. However, my friend can see my skin. I've tried disabling the trusted skins feature multiple times, but it still doesn't work. Before updating to the latest version 1.20.90, I could see my friend's skin, but after updating, I couldn't see it anymore.
