Strider teleports back to the nether when I take it to the overworld

When I leash a strider, and bring it through the nether portal to where I live, after a few minutes, it somehow teleports back to the nether. When I go back through, they just stand there like nothing happened. I love strider, and I just wanted to keep them as pets, but this bug is interfering extremely with this. Please fix it, it's frustrating me and also making me sad.
