Game textures corrupting

Having an issue where textures in the game become broken and randomly get mixed up with or mashed together with other textures. This issue has occurred to me 3 times now with the most recent being immediately after reinstalling the game.

Steps to reproduce

Unsure of what causes the game to be in this state but once it has happened once the following reproduces it

1. Open Minecraft

2. Open or join any world

3. Leave the world

4. Go back to title screen

Expected Results

All blocks, items and UI elements load with their expected textures consistently.

Observed Results

Blocks and UI elements randomly take parts of other block, item or UI textures upon entering and leaving a world. Issue persists to main menu with or without any resource packs applied. The textures that this issue applies to changes upon loading and unloading a world. The most consistent and obvious sign of the issue occurring is that half of the profile icon on the title screen will be missing. This can occur both with and without any resource packs enabled or installed.
