Steps to reproduce the issue:
Launch Minecraft Bedrock Edition (v1.21.94) on an iPad Air M2 (11-inch) running iPadOS 18.5.
Remain on the main menu, world selection screen, or settings menu without entering an actual game world.
Observe the device's battery level and physical temperature.
Expected result:
The iPad Air M2 should maintain stable battery life and remain at a comfortable operating temperature while navigating menus or waiting on the main screen, as there's no intensive rendering occurring. Android tablets with identical graphic settings running Minecraft Bedrock Edition do not show significant battery drain or overheating in this state.
Actual result:
The iPad Air M2 begins to exhibit increased heat generation and noticeable battery drain, typically within 5 minutes of launching the application, even before entering a game world. The device becomes noticeably warm to the touch, and battery percentage decreases at an accelerated rate, indicating a background resource consumption issue that is not present on Android devices under similar conditions.
