Battery drainage and severe overheating issue happen to my phone as I was just wandering around in a creative mode world. My battery has decreased from 69% to 62% within 4 minutes of playing. Both my Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and also IOS system are up to date. This issue does not happen while I’m playing other games like Mobile Legends. I have already tried the following troubleshooting methods:
Lowering render distance to 6
Disabling Smooth lighting, Fancy graphics, beautiful skies and other advanced graphic settings.
Reinstalling Minecraft (twice)
Using an external cooling fan
Removing my phone case
Device model: IPhone 15 Pro
IOS version: 18.3.2
Minecraft version: 1.21.62
The game should not cause excessive heat or battery drainage under normal conditions.

I can confirm this issue on M1 iPad Pro (11-inch, 3rd generation), MCBE 1.21.72, iPadOS 18.3.2. MCBE drains 50% of the battery within just an hour, and no other applications do that.
I play MCBE exclusively on a BDS server at the moment, so at first I thought it was due to excessive network activity caused by the now-enforced “server-auth-with-rewind” mode. But I heard from other iOS users that the problem also happens while playing on a singleplayer world, apparently disproving my theory.
Hi!
Could you let us know if you have any other applications open while playing?
Could you also let us know what are your graphic settings for the game and are you using any
Add-ons or Resource Packs?

Similar to the comment above, I’ve noticed the issue stops when I disconnect from WiFi. I’m using an iPad Pro 11” (m4). I’m not using any resource packs or add-ons.
Hi and thank you for the response!
How was the device behaving in older versions?
Was this the issue since 1.21.62, as reported?

Are you making the problem worse? If your battery health drops rapidly while you're playing, will you feel guilty about causing inconvenience to your players and please fix it?
I'm really fed up, I bought an iPad Air 2024 11" with M2 a year ago, and the gaming performance with MINIMUM GRAPHICS is really terrible. I mainly use Minecraft (which gives a lot of problems) bedrock version (obviously) with 5 chunks of render distance, all graphics at minimum, low brightness, practically free memory, ambient temperature 18ºC. After 20 seconds the processor frequency goes from 3.5 Ghz to 2.4 Ghz and if I continue it goes below 1 Ghz. Thermal throttling is evident, but even without a case, very low graphics and temperatures below 20 degrees, the device heats up enormously. I have been reporting this bug to Mojang for months but no one cares (certainly for economic reasons) about us iPad M users. For this reason, I AM DESPERATE. It is impossible that I have such a banal game and a powerful device with such a drop in performance. I think all the M ipad series are affected. The frame rate after 10 seconds decrase a lot and the cpu usage goes up at almost 100% with low graphic and a cold room, and the stuttering get way worst. 22 chunks or 5, 8x texture or 32x the 60 constant fps last for jusst 10/20 seconds almost.
It’s not just iPad users. All us iOS users too. This seems to be only and issue with MCPE iOS version.
Looks like it’ll never be fixed.
Sadly… Anyway i know that is a general iOS problem not only on the iPad, but i bought the M2 (over 1 year ago) for the high performance and still no performance updates… I’m afraid to update Minecraft again becouse i feel every update gets slowly worst. A friend with the M3 chip said that is the same sh….
I have also encountered this issue. It appears to be related to WIFI connectivity when playing. With WiFi disabled, I don’t encounter excessive overheating or battery drain.
