Severe battery drain, heat, and performance drop. Ipad Pro M2 - IOS 26 - MCPE

I wanted to report a serious performance issue affecting Minecraft on iPad devices equipped with the M chip. Despite the M2’s excellent thermal and performance capabilities, Minecraft experiences extremely high power draw and severe overheating, even while idling in the main menu.

Within just a few minutes of launching the game (before even entering a world), battery drains at a rate of approximately 2–3% per minute, and the device becomes noticeably hot to the touch. This happens even with graphics settings set to default or lower such as fps limit set to 50, everything fancy off, vibrant shaders disabled, 8 chunk render distance and simple graphics.

When joining servers, the issue worsens significantly , the game begins to lag severely and frame rates drop drastically, at times, making the game practically unplayable

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Launch Minecraft on an iPad.

2. Wait in the main menu for a few minutes , device temperature and battery drain increase rapidly.

3. Join any multiplayer server, frame rate drops, lag increases, and device heat spikes further.

Expected Behavior:

Minecraft should maintain stable frame rates and reasonable device temperatures, especially given that other graphically intensive games on iPad M2 run smoothly with minimal heating.

Actual Behavior:

The game overheats rapidly, drains battery excessively, and becomes laggy and nearly unplayable on servers.

Additional Notes:

This issue has been widely reported by multiple players on Reddit, Discord, and other communities. It appears to be an optimization issue specific to the iOS/M2 version of Minecraft, as other demanding apps perform perfectly fine under similar conditions.

Please look into this — the game is currently unplayable for many users on modern Apple hardware.

Thank you for your time and for continuing to improve Minecraft’s performance and stability.
