Sunlight and moonlight doesn’t realistically enter caves or pass under large overpasses.
Steps to reproduce:
create a world and find any cave or natural land bridge/overpass that is at-least 20 blocks deep.
Make sure the cave entrance etc has direct sunlight.
Enter the cave and observe the unnatural shadows from the roof of the cave entrance when the sun is at the edge of the top of the cave entrance when looking out from inside.
observe how the light suddenly stops going farther into the cave after 15 blocks. Sometimes even shorter distances…
Expected results:
Light should realistically go as far into a cave as it can, before it hits a solid block. Not suddenly stop mid air, in a cave opening.
Actual results:
Light suddenly stops at 15 blocks or less when the sun clearly should illuminate the entire back of the cave. Also, shadow casting is very unnatural.
(OBSERVE PLAYER HAND TO NOTICE WHEN INSIDE OF OR OUTSIDE OF LIGHT)
As you will notice, my player can Directly see the Sun. Yet I’m always in shade.
This is illogical. Especially for the image that I am Infront of Obsidian.
Why can I see the sun - But the shadows being cast from the cave opening stop AHEAD OF ME as if I’m in shade, not direct sunlight as you can obviously see - I AM…
